Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I need to wear a cap and gown for the ceremony?
Yes.  You may rent a cap and gown from the Bookstore at the Cesar Chavez Student Center. Be sure to check out the Bookstore’s website for information on renting your regalia.

2. Do I need to be a part of CSA (Counseling Students Association) to be a part of the graduation ceremony?
No, but we may have to ask for mandatory donations to help fund the graduation ceremony.

3. How many guests can we invite to come?
We are unsure how many can come because we need to know how many people have registered to take part in the ceremony.

4. Will we have to pay a fee to be a part of the graduation ceremony?
We are working very hard to try and make the ceremony as free as possible.  There is a chance that we may ask each participating graduate who is not a part of CSA to make a mandatory donation.  We don't know yet much we will ask students to donate.

5. What if I didn't register in time?
If you are reading this, I don't know why you wouldn't have registered by then.  If you registered after the date, you can still take part in the ceremony, but your name will not appear in the program. :-(  You got plenty of time but don't put it off till the last minute.

6. Where do I get graduation announcements?
Be sure to check out http://www.CBgrad.com (enter code SFSU) or go to the bookstore to pick up blank invitations that you can use in your printer.

7. How do I join Chi Sigma Iota?
Please contact Dr. Van Velsor for more information.
